Authenticated RCE via git rebase argument injection
Published Jun 24, 2026 · Updated Jun 24, 2026
Command injection in Gogs before 0.14.3 allows remote authenticated users to execute arbitrary code via a crafted pull request branch. In PullRequest.Merge, the base branch value reaches git rebase without an end-of-options delimiter, so a branch beginning with --exec is parsed as an option and executed by a shell. Exploitation requires repository ownership or write access to a repository with rebase merging enabled and runs code as the Gogs server process user.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
