Administrator escalation via multiline timestamp SQL injection
Published Jun 26, 2026 · Updated Jun 26, 2026
SQL injection in OpenProject before 17.3.3 and in 17.4.0 allows remote authenticated users to gain administrator privileges. The timestamp parser validates only the first line of a relative-date value, then interpolates the retained multiline string into a raw SQL CASE expression. A user who can save a query can persist a crafted timestamp array and obtain a database write primitive, enabling account elevation and in-band data disclosure.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
