Code execution via unvalidated submodule paths

Path traversal in Dulwich 0.23.2 through 1.2.4 allows remote attackers to plant executable Git hooks through a crafted repository. The submodule update code joins an attacker-controlled gitlink path to the work tree without validating the destination, then writes the submodule tree there while preserving executable mode bits. Exploitation requires recursive submodule processing of an untrusted repository; a later Git or Dulwich operation that invokes the planted hook executes the attacker's code.
