Admin account takeover via unsanitized article Markdown
Published Aug 3, 2026 · Updated Aug 3, 2026
Stored XSS in Emlog Pro 2.6.23 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to execute JavaScript in article viewers' browsers. The article save path stores content verbatim, Parsedown leaves raw HTML unchanged because safe escaping is not enabled, and the template echoes that output. Writer privileges suffice; viewing the published article executes the stored payload, enabling session theft and administrative actions in the victim's context.
