CVE-2026-5235Public exploit

Information disclosure and crash via undersized dac4 atom

Published Mar 31, 2026 · Updated Mar 31, 2026

Heap-buffer over-read in Axiomatic Systems LLC Bento4 1.6.0-641 allows local users to disclose memory or crash MP4 parsers. AP4_Dac4Atom accepts an undersized dac4 payload and performs repeated unchecked DSI bit reads until AP4_BitReader::ReadCache reads beyond the heap allocation. Exploitation requires a local user to make a Bento4-based tool or application parse a crafted MP4 file; demonstrated outcomes are an out-of-bounds read and process crash.
