Account takeover via reusable post-logout sessions
Published Jul 31, 2026 · Updated Jul 31, 2026
Session invalidation failure in FeehiCMS 2.1.1 allows remote attackers to reuse captured cookies and take over user accounts after logout. The logout handler fails to destroy the server-side PHPSESSID and identity session, so authenticated requests continue to accept both values. Access requires obtaining a victim’s cookies; reused cookies grant that account’s permissions, including administrator access when the victim is an administrator.
