Service interruption via unbounded verification processing
Published Sep 1, 2026 · Updated Sep 3, 2026
Resource exhaustion in cleverange_auth 0.1.10 allows remote attackers to interrupt service through repeated account registration. The create_verification post-save receiver creates a Verification row, renders templates, and sends email synchronously for every new User without limiting requests. A public registration path without rate limiting or CAPTCHA permits unauthenticated repetition, consuming database, SMTP, CPU, and storage resources until legitimate requests are degraded.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.

Published CVSS scores
CVSS describes severity. EPSS estimates exploitation probability.
