Unauthenticated traceroute-log erasure via missing authorization
Published Aug 31, 2026 · Updated Sep 1, 2026
Incorrect access control in TOTOLINK T6 4.1.5cu.748_B20211015 allows remote attackers to erase traceroute logs without authentication. The clearTracerouteLog handler accepts topicurl=clearTracerouteLog at /cgi-bin/cstecgi.cgi and clears the stored log without enforcing authentication. Network access to the device's HTTP management endpoint is sufficient, and the reported consequence is limited to loss of traceroute-log data.
