Stored XSS via unescaped comment placeholder attribute
Published Aug 6, 2026 · Updated Aug 6, 2026
Stored XSS in WPXPO PostX 5.0.13 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to execute scripts through the Post Comments Block. The block stores the inputPlaceHolder value in post content and renders it into an HTML placeholder attribute without sufficient sanitization or output escaping. Contributor-level access is required to inject the payload, which runs in a page viewer's browser context when the affected page is opened.
