Permanent denial of service via unchecked NVRAM copy
Published Jul 15, 2026 · Updated Jul 15, 2026
Buffer overflow in Tenda AC10 v3 firmware V03.03.16.09 allows remote authenticated users to permanently disable the router. The UploadCfg handler accepts a crafted configuration checksum, then nvram_set copies an oversized value into a smaller fixed NVRAM buffer without a length check. Access to the management interface and valid authentication are required; the demonstrated overwrite persists across reboots and forces an unrecoverable boot loop.
