Administrator impersonation via unvalidated user ID cookie
Published Mar 30, 2026 · Updated Mar 30, 2026
Privilege escalation in Debugger & Troubleshooter 1.3.2 and earlier allows remote attackers to impersonate administrators via a cookie. The determine_current_user filter reads wp_debug_troubleshoot_simulate_user as a numeric user ID without integrity or authorization validation. An unauthenticated request can select an administrator ID, granting the resulting request administrator privileges and full WordPress control.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
