Local command execution via shell-interpolated git parameters
Published Mar 30, 2026 · Updated Mar 30, 2026
OS command injection in raine consult-llm-mcp 2.5.0 through 2.5.3 allows local users to execute arbitrary commands via git_diff input. The consult_llm tool interpolates git_diff.base_ref and git_diff.files into a command string passed to child_process.execSync, so shell metacharacters become commands. Access to invoke the local MCP server tool is required, and injected commands run with the privileges of the server process, enabling host data access or modification.
