Stored HTML injection via unescaped long-line fallback
Published Jun 15, 2026 · Updated Jun 15, 2026
Stored HTML injection in matze wastebin 3.4.1 allows remote attackers to alter formatted paste pages through crafted long lines. In crates/wastebin_highlight/src/highlight.rs, the over-2048-character fallback returns each line without HTML escaping before the template treats it as trusted markup. Viewing the formatted paste exposes the injected page content; script execution depends on the browser and active content security policy.
