Service interruption via unbounded paste decompression
Published Jun 15, 2026 · Updated Jun 15, 2026
Uncontrolled resource consumption in anna-is-cute paste 0.1.1 allows remote attackers to interrupt service via a crafted POST request. The /api/v0/pastes handler decompresses attacker-controlled gzip or xz base64 content during deserialization without limiting expanded size, then create_file writes the expansion to disk. Anonymous paste creation is sufficient to exhaust memory or disk and make the server unavailable.
