CVE-2026-5085Network attack vector

Session hijacking via predictable MD5 identifiers

Published Apr 13, 2026 · Updated Apr 13, 2026

Predictable session identifiers in Miles Crawford Solstice::Session 1440 and earlier allow remote attackers to access authenticated sessions. The _generateSessionID and _generateID methods hash epoch time, a predictable hash reference, Perl's 16-bit-seeded rand() output, and a small-range process ID with MD5. A currently valid identifier must be predicted; successful use grants access to the associated session, with no reported service interruption.
