CVE-2026-5083Network attack vector

Authentication bypass via predictable weak-random session IDs

Published Apr 8, 2026 · Updated Apr 8, 2026

Predictable session identifiers in Ado::Sessions 0 through 0.935 allow remote attackers to bypass session authentication. The Ado::Sessions::generate_id routine hashes output from Perl rand with the epoch time and process ID, leaving every seed component guessable. Exploitation requires predicting or learning the request time and narrowing the process ID and rand output; success grants unauthorized session access.
