Authenticated code execution via password-reset template injection
Published Aug 17, 2026 · Updated Aug 18, 2026
Server-side template injection in Squirro Cognitive Search before 3.14.2 allows remote authenticated users to execute arbitrary code. The password-reset email template renders attacker-controlled Jinja2 expressions server-side, exposing Python globals that invoke operating-system commands. The published procedure requires an authenticated session with access to Server > Emails; successful execution runs commands in the application server's context.
