Unauthenticated service interruption via unprotected instance deletion
Published Jul 21, 2026 · Updated Jul 21, 2026
Missing authentication in exo-explore exo 1.0.69 allows remote attackers to terminate running inference instances through its REST API. GET /state exposes active instance identifiers, and DELETE /instance/{instance_id} passes a URL-supplied identifier to the deletion handler without authentication middleware or another credential check. Network access to the API is sufficient; terminating the enumerated instances interrupts active chat, API, and batch inference workloads until the instances are recreated.
