Broker crash via repeated OpenWire BrokerInfo commands
Published Jun 30, 2026 · Updated Jun 30, 2026
Resource exhaustion in Apache ActiveMQ 5.19.7 and 6.2.6 allows remote attackers to crash the broker through unauthenticated OpenWire traffic. The OpenWire connection handler accepts repeated BrokerInfo commands before ConnectionInfo instead of rejecting the second command, consuming broker heap with each repetition. No credentials or user interaction are required; sustained repetition exhausts memory and terminates the broker process.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
