Stored XSS via unescaped desktop icon label
Published Jun 24, 2026 · Updated Jun 24, 2026
Stored XSS in Frappe Framework 17.0.0-dev allows remote authenticated users to execute JavaScript in another Desk user's browser. The desktop_icon.html template interpolates a stored Desktop Icon label into an HTML data-id attribute without attribute escaping, so a quote-breaking label injects event-handler attributes. Exploitation requires permission to create or modify Desktop Icon records and a second authenticated user to interact with the rendered icon.
