Cross-resource access via missing JWT audience validation
Published Jun 12, 2026 · Updated Jun 12, 2026
Authentication bypass in Apache CXF before 3.6.12, 4.0.0 through 4.1.6, and 4.2.0 through 4.2.1 allows remote authenticated users to replay JWTs. JwtAccessTokenValidator trusts an incoming JWT without comparing its aud claim with the receiving resource server, so a token scoped to one server is accepted by another. Exploitation requires a valid token issued for a different resource server and grants that token's privileges against the unintended service.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
