Authenticated privilege escalation via omitted AdminResource checks
Published Jul 29, 2026 · Updated Jul 29, 2026
Missing authorization in Apache Atlas 0.8.0 through 2.5.0 allows remote authenticated users to perform administrative operations. AdminResource handlers for thread dumps, async imports, server data, audits, active searches, patches, tasks, and debug metrics execute without role-specific verifyAccess calls. Any valid Atlas account reaches these endpoints, exposing administrative reads and state-changing actions beyond its assigned privileges.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
