Option injection in yt-dlp before 2026.06.09 allows remote attackers to write arbitrary files through malicious media manifests. Decoded newlines in fragment URLs or metadata become configuration lines in the generated aria2c input file, permitting arbitrary URI and option injection. Exploitation requires a user to download HLS or DASH content with aria2c; the file write executes code immediately on Windows or after a later invocation on other platforms.
