Node compromise via unchecked Environment PodSpec merge
Published Jun 10, 2026 · Updated Jun 10, 2026
Improper access control in Fission before 1.24.0 allows remote authenticated users to compromise Kubernetes nodes via Environment CRDs. The Environment merge copies user-supplied hostNetwork, hostPID, hostIPC, privileged-container, and service-account settings into runtime or builder pods without security checks. Exploitation requires create or update RBAC for environments.fission.io; a resulting privileged hostPID pod can enter the host and take over its node.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
