CVE-2026-50563Network attack vector

Node escape via unchecked Function PodSpec merge

Published Jun 10, 2026 · Updated Jun 10, 2026

Privilege escalation in Fission before 1.24.0 allows remote authenticated users to escape a Kubernetes node through a crafted Function. FunctionSpec.Validate accepts Function.spec.podspec without inspecting dangerous fields, while MergePodSpec forwards host namespaces, hostPath volumes, service accounts, and privileged container settings into an executor-created Deployment. Creating Function resources is sufficient to obtain host filesystem and namespace access through the resulting pod.
