CVE-2026-50544Hinoki check available

Conditional Administrator escalation via unchecked apps.json command execution

Published Aug 12, 2026 · Updated Aug 12, 2026

Incorrect permissions in LuminalShine before 26.05.0-rc4 allow local users to gain Administrator access through a writable apps.json file. The service trusts cmd and elevated:true entries in C:\ProgramData\LuminalShine\config\apps.json without an integrity check, then passes them to CreateProcessAsUserW with an administrator token. Exploitation requires user interaction and off-default ACLs or directory pre-creation that makes the file writable; default ProgramData inheritance blocks modification.
