Unauthenticated privilege escalation via unguarded function
Published Aug 11, 2026 · Updated Aug 25, 2026
Missing authentication in Microsoft Azure Kubernetes Service allows remote attackers to elevate privileges over a network. Microsoft has not disclosed which AKS control-plane function accepts unauthenticated requests or how the service fails to enforce identity checks on that path. The issue is exposed in the managed hosted service, requires no prior account or user interaction, and the publicly documented impact is unauthorized access to more privileged AKS capabilities rather than code execution.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
