Privilege escalation via unchecked Helm repository URLs
Published Aug 11, 2026 · Updated Aug 25, 2026
SSRF in the OpenShift Console Helm catalog proxy allows remote authenticated users to bypass tenant egress controls via a repository URL. The proxy fetches a tenant-controlled ProjectHelmChartRepository URL without validating its destination or blocking private ranges. Namespace edit access enables internal requests and catalog poisoning; privilege escalation additionally requires an administrator to install the planted chart.
