CVE-2026-5023Public exploit

Local command execution via shell-interpolated tool parameters

Published Mar 29, 2026 · Updated Mar 29, 2026

OS command injection in DeDeveloper23 codebase-mcp allows local users to execute arbitrary commands through crafted MCP tool parameters. The getCodebase, getRemoteCodebase, and saveCodebase handlers interpolate repository, pattern, and output-path values into Repomix command strings passed to child_process.execSync. MCP tool access is required; shell metacharacters execute with the server process privileges, enabling host data access or modification.
