CVE-2026-50229Network attack vectorHinoki check available

Reflected XSS via wildcard bean property mapping

Published Jun 29, 2026 · Updated Jun 29, 2026

Cross-site scripting in Apache Tomcat's number-guess example allows remote attackers to execute script in a user's browser. The numguess.jsp page maps every request parameter to NumberGuessBean properties, letting a crafted hint value reach getHint() and render without HTML encoding. The examples application must be deployed and a user must follow a crafted request; exploitation runs attacker-controlled script in that application's origin.
