Database exhaustion via unmitigated account registration
Published Jun 4, 2026 · Updated Jun 4, 2026
Missing authentication in Acer Connect M6E 5G Mobile WiFi firmware M6E_AI_1.00.000019 and earlier allows remote attackers to exhaust its database. The /v1/account/register endpoint allocates database-backed accounts without CAPTCHA, email verification, request throttling, or other bot mitigation. No authentication or user interaction is required, so automated registration floods can consume database capacity and interrupt account services.
