Service interruption via recursive JsonNode serialization
Published Jun 23, 2026 · Updated Jun 23, 2026
Denial of service in FasterXML jackson-databind 2.10.0 through 2.13.5 allows remote attackers to interrupt applications with deeply nested JSON. InternalNodeMapper recursively serializes nested ObjectNode and ArrayNode values, exhausting the Java call stack when JsonNode.toString() processes excessive depth. Exposure requires an application to read attacker-controlled JSON with ObjectMapper.readTree() and serialize that tree with JsonNode.toString(); small concurrent requests can consume resources or raise StackOverflowError.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
