Unauthenticated reflected XSS via unescaped search parameter
Published Jul 15, 2026 · Updated Jul 15, 2026
Reflected XSS in AVideo 29.0 and earlier allows remote attackers to execute JavaScript in a victim's browser via a crafted URL. The YouTubeAPI gallery pagination code inserts the search query into link href attributes without URL encoding or HTML escaping, and the Layout plugin moves injected script into an executable inline block. Exploitation requires the enabled YouTubeAPI and Layout plugins, a matching video result, and a victim to follow the link; script then runs under the victim's AVideo origin.
