CVE-2026-50160Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Unauthenticated administrator access via signing-key overwrite

Published Jul 1, 2026 · Updated Jul 1, 2026

Mass assignment in Hoppscotch backend 2026.4.1 and earlier allows remote attackers to forge administrator tokens by overwriting JWT_SECRET. The global NestJS ValidationPipe preserves undeclared request fields, and updateOnboardingConfig iterates them into InfraConfig database entries without a key allowlist. The unauthenticated endpoint is reachable only before onboarding completes or when no users exist; control of the signing key enables impersonation of any user, including administrators.
