Account impersonation via consentless chat identity binding
Published Jun 26, 2026 · Updated Jun 26, 2026
Cross-site request forgery in Budibase before 3.39.0 allows remote authenticated users to impersonate another user via a crafted link. The public GET /api/chat-links/:instance/:token/handoff route passes the attacker's token to handoffChatLinkSession, which binds the embedded external identity to the visiting user's global account without consent or CSRF validation. The attacker needs a valid external-chat link token and must induce an authenticated victim to visit it; subsequent agent requests run with the victim's permissions.
