Unauthenticated memory access via unguarded document routes
Published Aug 14, 2026 · Updated Aug 14, 2026
Missing authentication in mcp-memory-service before 10.67.1 allows remote attackers to read, write, and delete memory through document routes. The documents.py router registers every /api/documents/* handler without FastAPI authentication dependencies, although protected memory routes require them. Exposure requires the HTTP REST server with API-key or OAuth authentication enabled; unauthenticated requests can disclose stored content, poison agent memory, or permanently delete memories.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
