CVE-2026-50015Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Arbitrary file write and deletion via patch traversal

Published Jun 25, 2026 · Updated Jun 25, 2026

Path traversal in pnpm before 10.34.0 and pnpm 11 before 11.4.0 allows remote authenticated users to write or delete local files. The @pnpm/patch-package parser accepts ../../ paths from diff --git headers without validation, and executeEffects writes or unlinks those paths outside the package directory. Exploitation requires an accepted patch-bearing pull request and a subsequent pnpm install; impact is limited to files writable by that process account.
