Remote service interruption via unbounded RESP allocation
Published Jun 12, 2026 · Updated Jun 12, 2026
Resource exhaustion in Netty before 4.1.135.Final and 4.2.0.Final through 4.2.14.Final allows remote attackers to interrupt services. RedisArrayAggregator constructs an ArrayList whose initial capacity equals an untrusted RESP array length without enforcing a maximum. Any unauthenticated network peer that can reach an application pipeline using netty-codec-redis can reserve enormous heap space before sending child elements, exhausting memory and interrupting the JVM service.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
