Authenticated sandbox bypass via stale cached verdict
Published Jul 14, 2026 · Updated Jul 14, 2026
Sandbox bypass in Twig before 3.27.0 allows remote authenticated users to run disallowed filters, tags, and functions via crafted templates. Template construction runs checkSecurity once, and Environment retains that verdict after sandbox state or SecurityPolicy changes. Exploitation requires attacker-controlled sandboxed templates and a reused Environment with templates loaded under another policy; method and property checks remain enforced.
