CVE-2026-49831Network attack vector

Administrator file overwrite via unrestricted reporter path

Published Sep 2, 2026 · Updated Sep 2, 2026

Path traversal in DSpace before 7.6.7, 8.0-rc1 through 8.3, 9.0-rc1 through 9.2, and 10-rc1 allows remote authenticated users to overwrite files. The curate script accepts the reporter's -r output path without restricting it to configured base directories, allowing output to reach any path writable by the service account. Collection, Community, or Site Administrator credentials are required; overwriting configuration or executable files can interrupt service, and privilege escalation requires a custom task or separate executable payload.
