Cross-namespace Package disclosure via unchecked Function reference
Published Jun 10, 2026 · Updated Jun 10, 2026
Incorrect authorization in Fission before 1.24.0 allows remote authenticated users to read Packages across Kubernetes namespaces. Function admission validation omits a same-namespace check for spec.package.packageref.namespace, so the fetcher sidecar uses its service account to copy the referenced archive into the attacker's pod. A user needs functions.fission.io/create in one namespace; invoking the Function exposes source code and embedded credentials from another namespace without permitting modification or interruption.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
