CVE-2026-49818Network attack vectorHinoki check available

Arbitrary file writes via GCS object names

Published Jun 9, 2026 · Updated Jun 9, 2026

Path traversal in Apache Airflow Samba provider before 4.12.6 allows remote authenticated users to write files outside the SMB destination. GCSToSambaOperator._resolve_destination_path joins each GCS object name to destination_path without normalization or a containment check, so ../ segments escape that directory. Exploitation requires write access to the source GCS bucket and an Airflow run using the operator; the resulting SMB write can place or overwrite files at attacker-chosen target paths.
