CVE-2026-49817

Privilege escalation via unsafe deserialization

Published Aug 19, 2026 · Updated Aug 19, 2026

Deserialization of untrusted data in Dell Technologies Dell Command Update before 5.7.1 allows local users to gain elevated privileges via local access. Dell and the CVE record disclose only that attacker-controlled serialized data is deserialized unsafely; they do not identify the affected component, file, IPC path, or object type. An existing low-privilege account on the host is required, and the published CVSS indicates the resulting privilege gain can expose or alter system state and disrupt the endpoint.
