Customer-to-vendor escalation via unrestricted role updates
Published Jun 15, 2026 · Updated Jun 15, 2026
Incorrect privilege assignment in weDevs Dokan 5.0.2 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to gain vendor privileges via REST. The Customers REST controller accepts crafted create or update requests without object-level authorization and permits attacker-supplied role fields. A customer account and a reachable WordPress REST API are required; exploitation creates a vendor account or changes another user's privileges.
