Denial of service via unbounded integer parsing
Published Jun 9, 2026 · Updated Jun 9, 2026
Uncontrolled resource consumption in Elixir 1.5.0 through 1.20.0 allows attackers to crash processes with crafted version strings. The Version parser passes unbounded numeric components to arbitrary-precision integer conversion, consuming CPU and memory or raising an uncaught SystemLimitError. Reachability requires an application to pass attacker-controlled data to a Version public entry point; one request can pin a BEAM scheduler or crash the calling process.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
