CVE-2026-49481Public exploitNetwork attack vectorHinoki check available

Authenticated command execution via device field interpolation

Published Aug 12, 2026 · Updated Aug 12, 2026

OS command injection in seriousm4x UpSnap before 5.4.0 allows remote authenticated users to execute commands through device fields. The wake and shutdown paths substitute attacker-controlled ip and mac values into wake_cmd or shutdown_cmd and pass the result to /bin/sh -c or cmd /C without neutralizing shell metacharacters. Device-create or device-edit permission is required; successful exploitation runs arbitrary commands with the UpSnap server process's privileges.
