Contributor stored XSS via unescaped draft titles
Published Aug 12, 2026 · Updated Aug 12, 2026
Stored XSS in the Draft List plugin 2.6.3 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to execute JavaScript through draft titles. The draft_list_generate_code function replaces the draft placeholder with raw post_title data after the custom template has already been sanitized. Exploitation requires Contributor access, an attribute-based custom template, and a visitor without edit rights; the script then runs in that visitor's browser with the site's origin.
