Credential disclosure via authenticated foreign-blob fallback
Published Aug 12, 2026 · Updated Aug 12, 2026
Credential exposure in regclient before 0.11.5 allows remote authenticated users to obtain registry credentials through foreign blob URLs. After a primary blob fetch fails, the client follows a manifest layer's external urls entry and reuses the original registry credential when that server requests authentication. Exploitation requires a client operation involving a malicious registry or blob store, or unrestricted foreign-blob URLs; it exposes credentials without altering data or service availability.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
