CVE-2026-49331Network attack vector

Unauthenticated identity spoofing via preserved forwarding headers

Published Aug 5, 2026 · Updated Aug 5, 2026

Identity spoofing in openshift/oauth-proxy in Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform 4 allows remote attackers to impersonate users. For paths matching skip-auth-regex, the proxy bypasses authentication and forwards client-controlled identity headers instead of removing them. Exposure requires a configured bypass path and an upstream that trusts these headers, enabling unauthorized actions or data access under a forged identity.
