CVE-2026-49297Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Arbitrary file overwrite via unvalidated GCS paths

Published Jul 6, 2026 · Updated Jul 6, 2026

Path traversal in Apache Airflow Google Provider before 22.2.1 allows remote authenticated users to overwrite files via crafted GCS object names. GCSToSFTPOperator uses os.path.join and GCSTimeSpanFileTransformOperator uses pathlib path joining without normalizing object names or enforcing destination containment. Exploitation requires write access to a source bucket consumed by either operator and permits file overwrite on the SFTP server or Airflow worker.
